Certificate status is checked live on every badge request

Report a misused badge

Tell us about a project displaying a certification badge it does not hold, or a certified build that has turned malicious.

Used only to ask follow-up questions. Never shared with the publisher.

What happens next

Reports against a live certificate are triaged first. If the claim holds up, the certificate is revoked and every badge in the wild turns red within seconds. We do not wait for the publisher to take their page down.

What we can act on

  • A badge shown by a project with no matching certificate
  • A certified build whose hash does not match the file being distributed
  • Malicious behaviour in a build we certified
  • A certificate still displayed after it lapsed or was withdrawn

What we cannot act on

We are not a moderation service for Minecraft projects generally. Licence disputes, name conflicts and content complaints belong with the platform hosting the mod. If a build is stealing our badge, that is ours to handle.

Urgent cases

If a certified build is actively stealing credentials, email legal@backprobe.org directly so it reaches the on-call analyst.
